Dear colleagues and friends

It is with great regret I want to inform that after careful consideration, executive board of Michigan Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage (MAPI) has unanimously made the responsible decision to postpone its Spring CME Meeting 2020, originally scheduled to take place on March 15th.

MAPI’s decision is based on evolving situation as reported by World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Decision was influenced by Rapidly escalating concerns about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and also as recommended by Michigan Department of health as well as Governor’s office.

MAPI feels strongly that ensuring the health and well-being of public is always of paramount importance, and particularly given these rapidly evolving circumstances. It is our professional responsibility to consider the safety of our meeting participants by modeling social distancing and not contributing to the spread of the virus through a public gathering.

Again want to emphasize that CME is postponed and not cancelled. Will keep you all posted with new dates in the near future.

Sanjay Dogra, MD

President, MAPI
